Mould remediation and protection

The ERFURT-KlimaTec climate panels

According to a study by Immowelt, more than eight million households in Germany have a problem with mould infestation and the problem is on the rise.

Mould is very common and is a serious problem in residential properties .

Apart from looking unsightly and smelling musty, mould also presents a risk to health. Symptoms induced by mould include respiratory problems, allergic reactions, asthma, bronchitis, a sore throat, hoarseness and coughs, as well as abdominal pain, nausea and digestive problems.

If you suffer from these symptoms, a possible cause could be mould in your home. Testing your home for contamination with mould will give you certainty.

ERFURT-KlimaTec KP 1000+ and KP 2500+ climate panels are our mould remediation solution.

Products

ERFURT-KlimaTec KP 1000+ and KP 2500+ climate panels have been optimised for mould remediation and prevention. The breathable and capillary-active panels are made of expanded glass granulate. The hollow spheres have excellent thermal insulating properties and are resistant to moisture. This raises the surface temperature and regulates the air humidity.

The rear of the plates is reinforced with a fabric webbing, making the panels extremely stable.

The front is laminated with a glass nonwoven material and wallcoverings or mineral-based plaster can be applied directly to it.

Uses

Benefits

Mould is very common and is a serious problem in residential properties.

Anti-mould sprays and paints only remove mould in the short term.

Mould is usually caused by humidity in the air condensing on cold wall surfaces.

ERFURT-KlimaTec KP 1000+ and KP 2500+ climate panels are our mould remediation solution.

Climate panels combat the causes of mould formation by three modes of action:

1. Excess humidity is absorbed, stored and released again after ventilation.

2. The temperature of the wall surface is raised to prevent moisture condensing on the surface.

3. The material from which the panels are made is mineral-based and alkaline and thus does not present a breeding ground for the mould.

ERFURT-KlimaTec climate panels are easy to use. The panels can be scarified with a Stanley knife and broken over an edge or cut to the required size with a jigsaw.

The panels are extremely lightweight and nonetheless stable.

This makes it possible to produce a 1.0 cm thick climate panel, the thinnest breathable climate plate on the market.

A glass nonwoven material is laminated on the room side. It is therefore up to you whether you want to wallpaper directly on top of it or coat it with a mineral-based plaster.

Simply smooth over the joints with the system adhesive.

You need to pay particular attention to protecting against moisture with interior insulation. ERFURT-KlimaTec products have been designed to comply with the structural requirements of DIN 4108-3. They meet all the requirements obviating the need for a Moisture Protection Certificate. This makes the products safe to use.

Sustainability

Saving heating energy is an important component in achieving our climate targets. KlimaTec products save considerable heating energy, and their high percentage of recycled material also helps to conserve increasingly scarce resources.

ERFURT-KlimaTec KP 1000+ and KP 2500+ climate panels are made of 90% expanded glass granulate, which is made of recycled glass. Due to the fineness of the recycled glass, it can no longer be used for the production of new glass products.

This closes a gap in the recycling cycle.
