VARIOVLIES is a brand promise and offers all the desired product characteristics of modern smooth non-woven wallpapers. Often referred to as painter's fleece, these wallpapers are a popular choice for wall design as they offer a variety of advantages that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional. Variovlies wallpapers are not only easy to work with, but also offer numerous properties that make them an ideal choice for various applications.

To ensure that everything runs smoothly on the construction site, VARIOVLIES offers a wide range of products and thus the right quality for every need. Not all non-woven fabrics are the same. Non-woven fabrics usually consist of synthetic or natural fibres that are processed into a non-woven material. The composition can vary depending on the intended use. Non-woven fabrics can be produced in different thicknesses and densities, depending on the planned application. When developing our products, we rely on high-quality and preferably renewable or recycled raw materials.
The renewable raw materials used in our products come exclusively from FSC-certified pulp, obtained from sustainable and responsible forestry. And, of course, all Variovlies products are certified according to STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

CRACK-BRIDGING (HAIRLINE AND MESH CRACKS) One of the outstanding properties of Variovlies wallpapers is their ability to bridge cracks (class A1). They are particularly effective at bridging hairline and mesh cracks, covering small cracks in the wall surface and thus ensuring a smooth and even appearance. This property contributes to the durability and aesthetics of the wall design.

HEALTHY LIVING Our high-quality Variovlies wallpapers are the perfect choice for a healthy living environment. They are free from PVC and plasticisers. This makes them particularly low in emissions and means that they do not impair indoor air quality. Thanks to their Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex certification and compliance with VOC guidelines in accordance with the AgBB standard, you can be sure that our wallpapers meet strict standards. Special product features of Variovlies wallpaper

Opazitaet
The opacity of smooth non-woven wallpaper varies depending on the material and manufacturing process. Variovlies wallpaper offers above-average opacity, which means that it completely covers the substrate and does not allow any underlying colour irregularities to show through. Other non-woven wallpapers have lower opacity and may require several coats of paint to achieve complete coverage.

The paint finish of smooth non-woven wallpaper can also vary. Variovlies wallpaper is particularly characterised by an evenly absorbent surface that can be optimally coated with just one coat of paint. Surfaces with varying degrees of absorbency can lead to uneven colour absorption and thus a patchy paint finish. The paint finish depends on the texture of the wallpaper and the paint used. An even and smooth surface is crucial for a high-quality and aesthetically pleasing end result. This is particularly important for intense colours and an even coat of paint.

Fibre alignment is an important factor in smooth non-woven wallpapers. All Variovlies wallpapers are characterised by very low fibre raising, which means that the fibres do not raise when the material is coated. This ensures a smooth and even coat of paint. Other non-woven wallpapers may have higher fibre raising, which results in a rougher surface and requires additional preparatory work, e.g. intermediate sanding.

Wallpaper absorbs moisture when paste is applied, which has different effects depending on the quality and texture of the smooth non-woven fabric. Wet strength plays a major role in whether and to what extent the paste soaks through. Pressing down on the wallpaper further increases the amount of paste that soaks through, as can be seen in the left-hand image from the fingerprints. If the smooth non-woven fabric becomes too damp, it can become mushy, which makes it difficult to work with and reduces the quality of the finish. The cutting properties of smooth non-woven wallpaper are another quality factor. All Variovlies wallpapers can be cut easily and precisely, which makes them easier to work with and results in clean edges. Other non-woven wallpapers can be more difficult to cut and require special tools or a high consumption of blades. Good cutting properties are crucial for professional and clean installation.
Rupftest
The pull-off test is a method for determining the surface strength and durability of smooth non-woven wallpapers. Our Variovlies wallpapers pass the pull-off test with flying colours and show no signs of damage or detachment. Conventional non-woven wallpapers can show weaknesses in the pull-off test and are less resistant. High strength and durability are important for the longevity and quality of wall design.
