Report on Corporate Sustainability
For almost 200 years, we have been combining traditional craftsmanship with a forward-looking approach to sustainability. Under the leadership of our managing partner, Felicitas Erfurt-Gordon, our company is consistently driving forward its transformation in line with the Cradle to Cradle principle. Since 2021, we have been developing a comprehensive sustainability strategy that includes both a binding Code of Conduct and a transparent sustainability report. A key component of this strategy is the switch to recycled paper: by using recycled fibres instead of virgin pulp, we can save around 60% in energy and water consumption during production and raw material procurement alone. As recycled paper can be reused multiple times within the cycle without any problems, its carbon footprint is significantly lower – at around 30% – than that of virgin fibre pulp. With a view to 2030, our company is working consistently to develop fully recyclable products and to take a leading role within the circular economy.

ERFURT is one of Germany’s brands of the century
We are committed to environmental protection, tradition and social responsibility
Since its foundation in 1827, the ERFURT brand has stood for entrepreneurial strength and, at the same time, a strong sense of responsibility. Alongside economic excellence, we have always been characterised by an active commitment to culture, environmental protection and social cohesion. Our success today is therefore based not only on business expertise, but above all on our consistent commitment to social responsibility towards our employees, the region and society. This approach, combined with a conscious and resource-conserving attitude towards nature, forms the foundation of our corporate philosophy. It makes it clear why ERFURT ranks among the most significant German brands of the century and is still regarded today as a model for sustainable business practices.
