QNG-ready
The Sentinel Haus Institut (SHI) is an independent centre of expertise that focuses on aspects of healthy building, renovation and interior design. The institute’s aim is to provide information, assessments and guidance that promote indoor health whilst taking into account environmental and legal requirements in the construction sector. To this end, the SHI combines scientific principles with practical support services for building owners, planners, manufacturers and companies.
A key focus of the Sentinel Haus Institut’s work is the independent testing and assessment of products with regard to pollutant emissions and material properties. The results of these assessments are documented in the SHI database and serve as a source of information and a decision-making aid for the selection of products in the construction and interior design sectors. The product data provided can be used within the framework of planning and construction processes, including in connection with common building certifications such as DGNB, the ‘QNG’ quality seal or the EU taxonomy.
In the context of the QNG quality label, the Sentinel Haus Institut offers the so-called ‘QNG ready’ concept. This provides structured evidence and assessment criteria that can assist construction projects and products in meeting QNG-relevant requirements. The assessments and product information provided can help to prepare and document the necessary evidence within the framework of QNG-related processes.
SHI Product Passport
The SHI Product Passport from the Sentinel Holding Institute (SHI) digitally compiles verified, product-specific information on harmful substances and relevant criteria. It serves as a guide during the planning and documentation process and can be used in conjunction with standards such as DGNB, QNG, BNB, BREEAM and the EU Taxonomy.
The SHI Product Passport is available for the following products, amongst others: ERFURT non-woven woodchip wallpaper, woodchip wallpaper, textured non-woven, Variovlies ECO and non-woven fibre.
